Will this compatible cartridge void my Canon printer warranty?
No. Under UK consumer law, your printer manufacturer cannot void your warranty just because you use a compatible cartridge. They would have to prove the cartridge directly caused a fault, which is extremely rare with quality-tested cartridges like Crane Inks.
Will my Canon printer show a 'non-genuine cartridge' warning?
Yes. Canon firmware displays an informational message whenever a non-OEM cartridge is fitted — this is standard for every compatible cartridge on the market, not specific to Crane Inks. The message does not affect print quality or printer operation, and it can be acknowledged and dismissed on the printer's control panel.
Can I mix Crane Inks cartridges with original Canon cartridges in the same printer?
Yes. You can freely run Crane Inks alongside original Canon cartridges in the same printer at the same time. Many of our print-room customers do exactly this — for example, OEM black with Crane Inks colours — to balance cost and supplier preference.
How does the colour match compare to the original Canon cartridge?
Every batch is verified with a spectrophotometer against the Canon OEM target. We achieve a 99.8% colour match across the full gamut, so prints look identical to OEM output on the same media and ICC profile.
Is the colour profile (ICC) the same as the Canon OEM profile?
Crane Inks ink is engineered to match the Canon OEM colour target, which means the standard Canon ICC profiles for your printer and media continue to produce accurate output. For colour-critical work we recommend running a single linearisation pass with your RIP after switching ink supplier, as you would with any new ink batch.
Does the cartridge include a chip?
Yes. Every Crane Inks cartridge ships with a Canon-compatible chip pre-installed, so the cartridge is recognised by the printer immediately on insertion. No re-chipping or chip resetter is required.
Can I return the cartridge if it doesn't work in my printer?
Yes. We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery for any reason. If the cartridge is faulty we cover return shipping. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are preserved.
How long can I store the cartridge before using it?
Sealed Crane Inks cartridges have a 24-month shelf life when stored at 5–30°C, away from direct sunlight. Once installed in the printer, performance is identical to OEM cartridge runtime.
How are cartridges packaged for shipping?
Inks are packed in durable, well-protected packaging to reduce the risk of damage in transit. Each cartridge is individually sealed and cushioned, and outer cartons are right-sized to avoid movement during courier handling.
Do you offer bulk pricing for larger orders?

How quickly will my order ship and do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship worldwide. UK orders are dispatched within 24 hours on working days via tracked courier and typically arrive within 1–3 working days. International dispatch is the same 24-hour window; transit times vary by destination.
